Editorial standards
Updated
These standards apply to everything published in LineScout Research.
Accuracy
- Statistics, injuries, prices and quotes in an article must come from a source we can name. Articles list their sources and explain their method.
- Historical hit rates always state their sample, for example "8 of his last 10 games". A hit rate describes the past; we don't present it as the chance a bet wins.
- We don't publish projections without saying who made them and how.
Picks
- Every pick records the sportsbook, line and odds when it was published, and when that price was observed.
- Published picks are never edited or deleted. If a recommendation changes, the original stays visible, marked as withdrawn with the reason, and any replacement is published as a new pick.
- Current prices are shown separately from the original pick, so readers can see how the market moved.
- Results are added after the game, including losses.
Bylines and dates
- Every article names its author, and may name a reviewer.
- Articles show when they were first published. "Updated" appears only for meaningful changes, not for typo fixes or live price refreshes.
Independence
Commercial relationships, such as affiliate links, are disclosed on the articles they affect and on our disclosures page. They don't change published picks, which are locked when published.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and note the change on the article. See our corrections policy.
